Since I have started this blog, I have had the opportunity to meet some extraordinary, inspiring women. Its not often you meet someone who is so passionate about what they do, that it just radiates from their being.
I was gathered in a room with some amazing makers, doing a photoshoot for The Cleveland Flea. As we were sitting around gabbing waiting for the next shoot, I got to talking with the amazing woman behind Maeve's All Natural. She was showing off photos of her adorable little daughters and explaining to me a little bit behind her passion for her all natural skin care line. I was instantly excited because I have always had a desire to get some all natural products into my life. But I have always been a little skeptical because in my mind i'm always thinking, "how much of the products you see out there are actually 100% 'natural' and what does it mean to be all natural?"
But with Maeve's, they are 100% natural, they only use non-toxic, vegan ingredients. They source ingredients themselves and ensure top-notch quality for everything from the Shea butter to the glass containers they use. I especially love the product, because it is all made in their Cleveland lab.
They don't use synthetic fillers, only concentrated formulas. They don't use fillers, binders or glues. I learned from her that a commercial product will have between 12-92 ingredients and only a small number of them are active ingredients, usually between 1-5. Whoa.
After she gave me some of her products to try, I can truly tell you that using an all natural product on my skin produced results that were amazing. So fresh, calming and hydrating. I felt good about walking out of my apartment to run an errand without makeup on because my skin was so bright and balanced.
To start the skin care routine, at night, I use the Instant Eye Makeup Remover to remove my mascara and any eye makeup that I applied for the day. This product is free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrance or colorant. To apply, I used a cotton pad. It removed all my makeup with a couple of strokes. It has aloe in it which soothes any irritated skin and the rose water rehydrates after cleansing.
After the Instant Eye Makeup Remover, I used the Purifying Facial Cleanser with Aloe and Rose. This is such a gentle cleanser. It was really light and refreshing and it smells amazing. The cleanser melted away dirt and oil and my makeup. The clay in the formula absorbs toxins and removes impurities.
After cleansing, I applied the Refresh Facial Toner. To apply, I saturated a cotton pad and applied to t-zone area, then my cheeks and neck. This product is enriched with botanical extracts which purify, sooth and hydrate the skin. This toner really soaked into my skin, and I found that it really hydrated my face and didn't make my skin oily.
After cleansing and toning, I will use either one of these products. I use these two interchangeably. I don't use them both everyday because I find its too much hydration for my skin and it tends to get too oily. I have combination skin type, so if you are dry, you could most likely get away with using these both at the same time. I alternate nights with these two products. The hydrating B5 Gel is great for anti-aging. It is also enriched with Hyaluronic Acid which helps retain collagen, increase moisture and provides elasticity and flexibility.
The Contour Boosting Miracle Cream is rich in Omega Fatty Acids and nutrients. Its a natural moisturizer, full of botanical extracts that left my complexion feeling really soft. This is a really light cream and goes on really smooth. Its not cakey or thick. And bonus, it smells amazing! That is it for the nighttime routine! I sleep well knowing all these products are working their magic.
For a morning routine, I wash my face with the Purifying Facial Cleanser and then apply this Immortelle Facial Oil before I put on my makeup. It is a really good base for makeup and keeps my skin really hydrated all day.
Maeve's All Natural Products would make a great gift for someone special in your life. She has an awesome gift set for only $40!! I have linked all the products below. In addition to her shop online, she sells her amazing products at the Cleveland Flea and she will be in at a pop-up shop in Crocker Park which goes from 12/8–12/24. Be sure to check her out!
